Long-Term Council Community Plan 2004-2014

Planning for our future

The Local Government Act 2002 requires Council to produce a Long Term Council Community Plan whereby Council has a responsibility to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing of the community.

The LTCCP, which replaces what used to be known as the Annual Plan, details the Council's plans and objectives for the next 10 years, (1 July 2004 – 30 June 2014), which include the services that will be undertaken for the benefit of residents and ratepayers of the District, along with the cost and method of paying for each of these services.

The first draft LTCCP went out for public consultation on the 1st of May 2004 and submissions were called for until the 31st of May 2004. After careful consideration by Council of all submissions received, the final LTCCP was then adopted on the 24th of June 2004.

The plan is produced in three volumes:

  • Volume one - provides an overview of Councils activities, proposed projects, and income expenditure.
  • Volume two - provides a more detailed picture of Councils activities and the projects that Council intends on undertaking.
  • Volume three - provides details on Councils proposed income and expenditure, identifying where money will be sourced from, where

it will be spent, and the remission policies that are currently in place.
