Are you desperately trying to get on with your creative project but hindered by lack of money?
Council administers the Creative Communities Scheme that provides funding for arts and cultural projects in our district. The money comes from a national arts body, Creative New Zealand.
All funding applications go through to the Creative Communities Allocation Committee made up of members made up of our community.You will be informed whether or not your application was successful within six weeks of the closing date. The committee is allocated $23,000 each year to distribute to the community.

Creative Communities Application Forms
Applications for grants to fund arts and cultural activities are invited. Applications can be made for activities or events that have an arts focus and meet any one of the following criteria:
- Broad community involvement – the project creates opportunities for local communities to engage with and participate in arts activities.
- Diversity – the project supports the diverse arts and cultural traditions of local communities, enriching and promoting their uniqueness and cultural diversity.
- Young people – the project enables and encourages young people (under 18 years) to engage with and actively participate in the arts.

Project Report Form
All recipients of funds from the Creative Communities Scheme must complete and return the form below within two months of completing their project. If you do not complete and return this form you will no be eligible for future funding through the Creative Communities Scheme.
