Proposed Reserve Name Changes

Hinuera Recreation Reserve

Council recently purchased land in Hinuera and resolved to vest it as a Reserve and to lease it to the Hinuera Rugby and Sports Incorporated Club. A formal name for this reserve is yet to be adopted. ‘Hinuera Recreation Reserve’ has been chosen for consultation because the reserve will be used for sporting and recreational activities.

Kenwyn Reserve / Skidmore Reserve

The Reserve Management Plan for Kenwyn Reserve in Te Aroha includes the management intent that

“consideration be given to re-naming the reserve Skidmore Reserve, after the former Mayor Henry Skidmore, in consultation with the community”.

The name change is being proposed to acknowledge the significant contributions to Te Aroha from Mr Skidmore.
