Following recent rain, the water restrictions in Matamata, Morrinsville and Waharoa have eased to Level 1.

This means the district wide sprinkler ban is no longer in place, and residents can also use hand held hoses again.

"The recent rain has been very helpful to our low supplies," say Fiona Vessey, Group Manager service Delivery. "We still need people to conserve water while the water supplies are replenished, however, are pleased that we can allow people to use their sprinklers and hoses again."

"It was excellent to see how many people made an effort to significantly reduce their water use in our community - we'd like to thank those people for their efforts."
