Waharoa to Matamata road works (NZTA)
NZ Transport Agency is continuing work on its long-awaited resealing project of State Highway 27 from Waharoa to Matamata, with stage two of the project due to begin on 9 January. Work between Waharoa and Pohlen Road was completed in Nov/Dec 2017, with work now scheduled to being from Pohlen Road, south towards Matamata.
NZTA have advised us:
- Stop-go restrictions will be in place for the duration of this work
- Resealing work on the state highway is expected to take three weeks to complete
- Please be patient and expect delays

"We are delighted that NZTA are progessing repairs to roads around Matamata," said Mayor Jan Barnes. "This resealing project is one of a number of projects to improve the state highways around Matamata over the coming months," said NZTA Transport Systems Manager Karen Boyt.
