Have you registered for World Challenge Day yet?
With only one week to go until World Challenge Day, over 12,000 people have already registered to take part. World Challenge Day is an international competition with 50 million people participating from 40 countries. The event pitches cities against one another to get the most people (per capita of population) participating in 15 minutes of movement on World Challenge Day - this year's event falls on Wednesday 30 May.
Matamata-Piako has been challenged to take part by a city in Japan called Kitikami - and we want to win! Kitikami is a city in Japan that is very similar to Matamata-Piako here in New Zealand. With 93000 people, cycle tracks, mountains, ski resorts and mineral spas, Kitikami has similar attractions to offer tourists. We reckon we need about 18,000 people to take part in order to win. Over 10,000 people have registered already - it's really simple, you just need to fill in the form at www.worldchallengeday.co.nz/register-online.html
The event is for all ages and all levels of physical ability. It’s a great way to get together with other members of our wonderful community, and to have a great time. It’s free and simple to enter, and we have he.
