The event also acted as a fundraiser for the Matamata Health Shuttle, raising a total of $350.

Our Councillors thoroughly enjoyed their day at the Firth Tower, starting with a ride on an e-bike from Marks, Ewens and Associates on Tower Road to the Tower, a prequel to a spectacular battle with Firth’s Imperial Army, defending the Firth Tower against the Fifth Waikato Dragoons. The five glorious battle scenes, including some very dramatic fake death scenes, was particularly enjoyed by Councillor Brian Hunter.

“Being Scottish, we have a long history of going to war to bring freedom to our country, so I really enjoyed donning sword and shield and being victorious on the battlefield,” he said.
