View from the Bald Spur Lookout

Starting at the Mokena Geyser, this walk meanders through stunning native bush settings to the Whakapipi Lookout lookout and seat that offer spectacular views of Te Aroha, the Waihou River and the surrounding district. The energetic can continue another 200m to the top of the 'Bald Spur' and enjoy a rest at the seats there.


The adventurous can continue along the steep  Department of Conservation track to the top of Mount Te Aroha (approx 2 hours from Bald Spur), which also joins various tramping tracks into the Kaimai-Mamuku Forest Park. Further information on these tramping tracks can be obtained from the Te Aroha i-Site.
