What has been happening in Morrinsville? Balloons over Waikato brought four balloons to Morrinsville including a birthday cake balloon. These took off from the Recreation Grounds and floated over Morrinsville early in the morning. This was a great display and provided entertainment and excitement for those who saw them.
Morrin Museum Committee had a wonderful display of “Art in the Garden” among the beautiful garden of Mrs Joan Gribble. Work included painting, bead work, floral art, quilting and china painting. Approximately 100 people attended this event.
Morrinsville Pakeke Lions together with Matamata and Te Aroha Rotary clubs hosted a programme of films drawn from the film archives collection. This showed the Waikato from 1927-1955.
Morrinsville Community House sponsored an evening with best selling NZ author and speaker Nigel Latta at Morrinsville College Hall. Nigel’s speech topic was “how to raise kids and stay sane”.
Two school reunions were held recently with Tauhei Combine School and District’s on 20-22 March and Morrinsville College’s reunion on 27-29 March.
