There are several ways you can pay your rates. Including:
Direct Debit (EasyPay)
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your rates – you don’t have to worry about organising payment, Council simply deducts the amount owing from your account when it is due, so there is no risk of late payment penalties. The amount deducted from your account will automatically be adjusted for you each time your rates change without the need to visit your bank.
You can set Direct Debit to be deducted monthly (on the 25th of each month), or quarterly (on the 25th of each quarter – the last day for rates payments). Each time you receive a rate account it will show the amount and date(s) of the direct debit. Contact Customer Services for a direct debit form and the details required for your property.
Automatic PaymentAutomatic Payments can be arranged to allow regular weekly, fortnightly monthly or quarterly installment deductions. If you wish to set up an Automatic Payment please contact any Council Office to ensure your correct code and account reference are used when the payments are made. Staff at any office will help you complete your form and advise on the amount of payment necessary. You will need to contact your bank to adjust this amount each time your rates change.
In PersonRates can be paid in person at any Council Office. All offices can accept payment by EFTPOS, as well as by cash or cheque. Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards.
By MailCheques can be mailed to our District Office, PO Box 266 Te Aroha. Please enclose your remittance advice slip to ensure that your payment is correctly identified. A receipt can be mailed to you at your request. Please do not post cash. |
