Burial options available at Te Aroha Cemetery include:

 

Children's section For burials of children aged up to 16
RSA Section For burials of Returned Servicemen, identified by a plaque. Contact the RSA to organise a grave and plaque. The plot and burial is organised through Council.
Headstone, full plot, double berm Full size plot, identified by a headstone, back to back with another plot
Lawn Cemetery Plaque Full size plot, identified by a plauqe. Available in lawn cemetery section only.
Recumbent Desk Full size plot, identified by a plaque on a raised concrete slab. Available in lawn cemetery section only

 

Ashes interment options include

 

Ashes wall Ashes are sealed in a memorial wall and identified by a plaque
Ashes plot Ashes are buried in cemetery plot, identified by a headstone
Ashes Berm Ashes are buried in a small plot, identified by a plaque on a concrete strip
Memorial Garden Ashes may beburied in the Memorial Garden and a small plaque placed around the garden to remember the deceased. A plant may also be planted over buried ashes (restrictions on plant types apply)

 

Up to four lots of ashes may also be added to a previous burial plot

 

Memorial Options

Stillborn Memorial Garden
Ashes may be sprinkled or caskets buried in the Stillborn Memorial Garden, and a plaque placed around the garden to remember the baby.

 

 

Hours of Operation - Interments

 

Summer (From 1 October to 31 March)

Monday – Friday: 10am – 3.30pm:

Saturday: 10am – 2pm:

 

Sunday interments are permitted between 10am and 1pm, provided the timing is negotiated and approved by the Contractor.

 

Rest of The Year (From 1 April – 30 September)

Monday - Friday: 10am – 2.30pm

Saturday: 10am – 2pm

 

Burials arranged later than 2.30pm in winter may mean the contractor is backfilling the grave in the dark, this is an unsafe practice and Council does not permit it.
