If you’re planning any construction demolition or alteration work, it is likely that you will need to apply for a Building Consent. No work can begin on the project until a building consent has been issued.
Building consent application forms need to be completed by the project owner or their authorised agent (e.g. architect, engineer, draughtsman or builder).
You need to include three sets of plans and specifications with the application. If you present the information described, together with accurate and well presented drawings, then your application can be processed quickly and efficiently.
This is a common application form for all the Councils belonging to the Waikato Building Consent Group, including Matamata-Piako, Waikato, Waipa, and Otorohanga District Councils, and Hamilton City Council. The form is also for a PIM (Project information memorandum) application.
Make sure you include:
Amendment to Building ConsentIf you wish to make any changes to your design that has already been issued a building consent, you will need to apply for an amendment to ensure a Code Compliance Certificate can be issued.
