5.0   Protection of Public Stormwater Systems

 

5.2    Restricted Activities

Without the prior written approval of Council, no person shall:

  1. Cause the crushing load imposed on any facet of a public stormwater system to exceed that which it is designed for; or
  2. Erect any new vehicle or stock crossing over a watercourse, cross or pass over any watercourse, within a public stormwater system without prior permission of the Council; or
  3. Abstract any water from or allow their stock access to any facet of any public stormwater system; or
  4. Remove any existing covering material or place any additional material over or near any facet of a public stormwater system; or
  5. Cover any service opening such as manholes, catch pits or any other surface infrastructure; or
  6. Modify the bank structure of an open watercourse within a public stormwater system or strip stabilising vegetation from the banks in such a way as to render them subsequently unstable; or
  7. Excavate, or carry out piling or similar work closer than
    1. Five (5) metres from the edge of any trunk stormwater drain; or,
    2. Two (2) metres from the edge of any public stormwater drain, without the prior approval of Council in writing.  Such approval may impose conditions on the carrying out of any work near the stormwater drain.
