Te Aroha Domain vegetation removal

Removal of non-native bush gets underway in the Te Aroha Domain on Wednesday 20 January 2021.

Over a three week period, our contractor Wairere Mahi will remove unwanted vegetation from the top Boundary Street gate, continue up to the access track near the Mokena Geyser, and then along the upper track that heads north.

The tracks in the area will remain open but when larger vegetation is being removed sections will need to be closed for a short periods, to ensure everyone’s safety.

To avoid traffic congestion, the removed vegetation will initially be stockpiled in the area, and then mulched and taken away at a later date.

Where non-native bush has been removed, natives will replace them in Autumn 2021.
