What's already been done
We've conducted two surveys this year. Survey 1 (in July) asked about your vision for the places that you play and helped to confirm issues and opportunities affecting these places. We received nearly 200 responses to the survey.

We've taken all the feedback from Survey 1 and developed some responses/options. Survey 2 asked more specific questions to help us to understand more about which issues you think should be the priorities for Council to focus on and to help identify preferred options.

In September we held stakeholder workshops in Matamata, Morrinsville & Te Aroha. We have also been working with Mana Whenua about their vision and aspirations for parks and open spaces.
What happens next with all this information?
Feedback from both surveys and the workshops will help us draft a new Parks and Open Spaces Strategy over the next few months.
You'll also be invited to review and make comments on the draft strategy before Council adopts it - this is likely to be in early 2021. Once the Parks and Open Spaces Strategy is adopted, it becomes the guiding document for how we manage, maintain and develop all our parks and open spaces.
