Non-profit organisations selling food

Non-profit organisations conducting food sales fewer than 20 times annually are not required to register or complete paperwork. For instance, a school baking cakes for a gala event's cake stall does not need to submit any forms or register, provided they remain under the 20-event threshold per year.

Exceeding 20 events per year classifies the activity as a commercial operation, necessitating registration with the Council.

Council advises event organisers to encourage non-profit groups to seek guidance from the Council - via pamphlets - and consult the MPI website for information on safe food handling and preparation on the day of the event.
