A new zebra crossing has been installed on Thames Street, Morrinsville, outside Noel Leeming. The new crossing, which gives pedestrians right of way, replaces an old informal crossing (where cars had right of way).
“This zebra crossing came about after Council received feedback from Grey Power and other members of the community,” says Mayor Jan Barnes. “We listened to that feedback and have made changes to make the Morrinsville town centre safer for pedestrians.”
The new pedestrian crossing is open for use, and cars should take extra care to slow down and be prepared to stop for pedestrians.
