Temporary road closures
Matuku Road - 15 April 2024
J Swap Contractors will carry out road rehabilitation works on a 830m section of Matuku Road. During this time, the section of Matuku Road will be closed from Monday 15 April - Monday 6 May. We will be removing an unused stock underpass and a culvert, while upsizing a second culvert below the road.
Access will only be provided to residents, tankers and stock trucks.
While we aim to reopen the section of Matuku Road on Monday 6 May, pavement works will continue until Friday 31 May (weather permitting).
Traffic management and detours will be in place during the road closure. Speed restrictions will also be in place during the pavement construction, sealing and road marking stages.
There will be traffic delays due to the road closure. So please ensure you allow extra time to get to your destination safely.

We will be closing the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period stated below for the Anzac Day Dawn Parade and Civic Service.
Roads to be closed
- Kenrick St, between Whitaker St and Church St.

Ngaio St, Rawhiti Ave, Arawa St, Broadway(SH24), Tainui St, Matamata- 25 April 2024
We will close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period stated below for the Anzac Day Dawn Parade and Civic Service.
Roads to be closed - up to 10mins
- Ngaio St – From the intersection of Manawa St
to Rawhiti Ave. - Rawhiti Ave – From 21 Rawhiti Ave through to 45 Rawhiti Ave.
- Arawa St – From the intersection of Rawhiti Ave through to Broadway, including where it intersects with Rewa and Gouk Sts.
- Broadway – From 58 Broadway through to 112A Broadway, and at 115 Broadway.
Road Closed as specified below
- Tainui St – From the intersection of Broadway through to Tui St Intersection

Quine Road, Morrinsville- 28 April 2024
We will close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period stated below so Hamilton Motorcycle Club can hold their annual Motorcycle Event.
Roads to be closed
- QUINE RD from the intersection of Quine Rd at Tahuna-Ohinewai Rd and also Morrinsville-Tahuna Rd. Detours will be in place.

SH27 Waharoa
NZTA Waka Kotahi are undertaking safety improvements in Waharoa. This includes upgrading and repainting the existing median islands and kerbs, adding new pavement marking and improving signage on State Highway
27.
Work is expected to get underway from Monday 19 February and take up to 6 weeks. This will include the following streets:
- State Highway 27 – open to traffic via stop/go.
- Pitt Street – access to/from SH27 is closed from Monday 19 February until Friday 29 March.
