1. Introduction

 

1.1 Scope

The purpose of this Bylaw is to enable the Council to control and set standards for the operation of public amenities and cemeteries under the ownership or control of the Council.

 

1.2   Title of this Bylaw

This Bylaw shall be known and cited as Matamata-Piako District Public Amenities Bylaw 2014 and shall come into operation on 9 July 2014.  For expediency this Bylaw may be referred to as the Public Amenities Bylaw 2014.

 

1.3.    Enabling Enactments

This Bylaw is made pursuant and subject to the:
(a)    Local Government Act 2002; and
(b)    Burial and Cremation Act 1964; and
(c)    Airport Authorities Act 1996; and
(d)    Burial and Cremation (Removal of Monuments and Tablets) Regulations 1967; and
(e)    Health (Burial) Regulations 1946.

Schedule 1    Interments Code of Practice;

 

1.5    Adoption, Amendment and Revocation of Schedules

The Council may from time to time adopt, amend or revoke by resolution publicly notified, Schedules of this Bylaw listed in clause 1.4.
