Full description of idea:

The river bank area at the bottom of Lawrence Ave could be developed with a proper jetty, and entrepreneurs encouraged to run boat trips or kayak hire from this point. A coffee cart or ice-cream van, along with the provision of seating would encourage people to enjoy what has the potential to be a really attractive spot. The whole area could do with a spruce-up, especially where the cycle trail goes under the bridge. Yes, the area is prone to flooding every so often, but there are ways to minimise the impact of this.

How this idea will benefit the community:

Encourages outdoor activities, enhances the cycle trail and adds another string to Te Aroha's tourism bow.
