Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre

The Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre opened to public on 19 March, 2018. The building is a multi-purpose facility built to meet the current and future needs of the Matamata Community. It includes:

Matamata Council Office

All Council services are available at the Customer Service desk. Building Control and Animal Control are also based here.

Matamata Library

The new Matamata Library features additional space and computers, with self-service RFID kiosks so customers can issue and return their own books. Librarians are still on hand to help you with your reading or research questions and to run a range of library programmes.

War Memorial and foyer

Visitors to the Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre are greeted by our war memorial commemorating the soldiers from the Matamata area who were lost in battle. There is space in the foyer for visitors to meet, or just to stop and reflect on our history.
