Matamata-Piako District Libraries
We have three libraries located in Matamata, Morrinsville and Te Aroha, and an online collection accessible through our website.
Our libraries support more than the traditional language literacy associated with reading, they also support digital literacy and health, economic and social literacy, by providing
• Staff assistance and computer access at the libraries enable community members to get the support they need in applying for jobs, benefits, community funding, connect with families in other parts of the world, research information, access family history and educational needs.
• Programmes such as Wriggle and Rhyme, Toddler Time, Bricks for Kids, Book Chat, Stepping Up Digital Learning classes and special events such as author visits, provide an opportunity for the community to meet and learn.
• Spaces in our libraries provide opportunities for individuals to study, relax or meet.
