Full description of idea:

Aim for Te Aroha or the whole county to lead the way in becoming the first plastic free county in NZ. People are already encouraged to bring their own bags and some supermarkets are supplying paper bags. Let this spread wider for all forms of packaging thereby reducing our waste and the costs of waste disposal.

How this idea will benefit the community:

It will reduce the cost of rubbish collection and therefore the rates. It will prevent further sites having to be sourced for disposal of rubbish which will not decompose.
