 About Adrienne:

I am a dairy farmer from Walton, where I have worked alongside my husband to grow our business whilst bringing up our family. I had a brief career in banking prior to going dairy farming.

I have developed a strong sense of community through my active involvement in the governance and leadership of numerous community organisations in Walton and Matamata encompassing health, education and sport.

I am a keen sportswoman and enjoy playing competitive tennis and social netball. I umpire netball in Matamata each winter. I am the chairperson of the Agrecovery Foundation, representing the dairy industry on behalf of DairyNZ. The Foundation is a not for profit organisation that runs an accredited product stewardship scheme responsible for the nationwide collection and recycling of agrichemical containers and the ethical disposal of unwanted agrichemicals.

The business has grown considerably in recent times and underwent a significant restructure to better meet the growing needs of all its stakeholders. I have been described as being pragmatic and a team player. I like to take a strategic approach to the decision making process, which requires the need for taking a long term view while exercising fiscal prudence.

I am known for my “roll your sleeves up and help make it happen work ethic”. I am a qualified hearings commissioner. It is important to me that our community is resilient- economically, socially and environmentally. Our population is growing which brings both opportunities and challenges. We are fortunate to be well located within the “golden triangle” with a good climate and productive soils which sustain successful primary sector industries that are well supported by many local service businesses. I am proud to call Matamata Piako my home and appreciate the opportunity to be one of your elected members.
