A helicopter will be delivering materials to the Tui Domain Track on 3 March 2026. The track will be closed during this period to ensure safety for the public and the working team. We will be transporting materials up to a remote location to enable us to undertake track renewals.
Following the storms on 21-22 January 2026, we haven't been able to assess all of the tracks yet so please be extremely cautious and check this update on what to expect and a few tips to help keep you safe.
Te Aroha Domain Walks
These scenic tracks pass through lovely bush areas including some historic points of interest. They are both excellent short walks for those wanting to explore further than the Domain. They are also great walks for children, with lots to see and explore (and if you head up there at night you may even see some glow worms).
Upper Domain Walk
This walk begins near the Mokena Geyser, initially following the Te Aroha Mountain track. The walk passes a large Kauri tree, an old water reservoir, and the No. 21 magnesia spring. Walkers can choose to either join on to the Lower Domain track and end at the Te Aroha Leisure Pools, or head the other way along the Lower Domain track to end up back at the geyser.
