Full description of idea:

HI, my husband and I have lived in Morrinsville for 2 years, we both have been involved with Morrinsville in many ways over the last 50 years. We still have a strong connection with Morrinsville and would love to see Morrinsville flourish more.

Motorhome: POP (Park Over Property) and CAP (Charges Apply Property)
We spent 18 months travelling around NZ towing a new 5th wheeler Caravan. What a fantastic experience. We found that the NZMCA (New Zealand Motor Caravan Association, whose magazine is called "Motor Caravanner" and Motorhome Clubs are always looking for areas for their members to stay around the country. While biking around Morrinsville, we recognised that the Recreation Grounds look lost and lonely. I believe that there is so much that these grounds have to offer. We noticed a locked toilet block and another block next door which looks like it may have been a kitchen, not in use. I think that there is such an amazing opportunity to open up a Motorhome Park Over Property,& Charges Apply Property on these grounds.
With the possibility of reusing the toilets and "kitchen" facilities, there is a large grassed area of land which also would be great for holding Events,which is also something Motorhomers like to go to. I believe the Council could make great use of this area and also provide a fabulous way to promote Morrinsville. The land is there,the buildings are there, the pool is there,it is just making better use of what is already there. This area could take in motorhomes throughout the year and when needed, there is entertainment from a very popular Country Music Club plus many other local musicians within the community that could be called on.The Motorhome clubs often like to be catered for during the year so there would be a great opportunity for a club to provide and bring in extra income for them as well.

I lived in a in a country area where the Council put in Tepid pools, those pools have become very popular and has bought in people from all around the district. The Primary and the College get alot of use from the pools as well. I'm sure this would also be popular with the Motorhomers..

Cycle Trail and Walking Track. There is no actual Cycle Trail in Morrinsville, which is a shame.Having a cycle trail would be wonderful and with Ebikes becoming so popular, more and more oldies are fitter and are love cycling. A Cycle Trail would be the Icing on the cake for Morrinsville and the Recreation Ground. The motorhomers are a responsible, community minded people. There are more and more motorhomes on the roads now and the feedback that we have got back from the different communities on our travels has been how wonderful it is to have these people staying and helping the smaller communities by generating incomes. This is a great way to get Morrinsville show cased by the advertising that goes into the NZMCA monthly magazines which all motorhomers get when they join NZMCA. The pools at the Recreation Grounds would get more use when Motorhomers find that they are Tepid and can be available through out the year.
Lets be the "Motorhome Friendliest Town" in the country!!

How this idea will benefit the community:

Morrinsville Recreation Ground and Pools. INCOME for the whole town.
1.Bring people from all areas of NZ as well as tourism.
2. There is excellent space of land that can generate an income.
3. Cycle Trails generate a huge following for a lot of NZers and puts Morrinsville on the Map!. 4. Toilets (available)?
5. Kitchen (available)?
6. Walking Track. (More use)
7. Cycle Trail.( Fun and fitness)
8.Tepid Pool. (More use,more income)
There are times when Motorhomers want a main meal catered. (Catering Income for a club?)
More use and income for Swimming pools to become Tepid.
Income from nightly stays for Campers
Motorhomers using the RSA,Cafes, Restaurants, gives our local Economy more revenue!
Entertainment: Gives locals more exposure for their future.
