Peria Road Reserve (Yellow portion excluding memorial plantings and pathway)

We’re looking at turning Peria Road Reserve into a fenced off-leash area. What do you think?

Comments:
Furness Reserve, Founders Park, Centennial Drive and Tom Grant Drive are not fenced off - We have 2 passive greyhounds who love to have a run, but obviously we cannot let them off leash because of no fences, and other dogs who are not well trained by their owners and make a dash towards our two non-racing greyhounds. Our two greyts are always on the leash to avoid other dogs who are unfriendly. Owners need to control their dogs on recall. Greyhounds have thin skin and very easily at risk to other dog bites. I have heard of other dogs being attacked by dogs who are not controlled by owners. Owners need to take more responsibility for their dog's actions.
Respect is always a good thing to practice. Owners who do not comply with safety towards other dogs should be issued with a fine and pay for any veterinary bills of the injured pet.
Owners should pick up their dog poo, especially at Swap park. The parks definitely need to supply more poo bags and bins
