Things we think we should focus on

Te Aroha Spa

Tell us what you think about Te Aroha Spa:
Any other comments on Te Aroha Spa:
As demand has indicated, additional spa's could be included - but not at the expense of the national icon "Domain Geyser" [underlined]. This icon - the only one in the southern hemisphere should be, hold the major part of advertising our town.

Additional water sources for Morrinsville

Tell us what you think about Additional water sources for Morrinsville:
Provide one additional water source for Morrinsville
Any other comments on Additional water sources for Morrinsville:
Morrinsville water source has for 30yr been inadequate, or not up to standards required. A new water source is a must. If the source is on Lochabie Estate - what ownership rights does the council have? if in Lockabie ESTATE?

Facing the rubbish problem head on

Tell us what you think about Kerbside collections:
Any other comments on Kerbside collections:
It appears it is unmanagable for council.
Allow private enterprise to dictate cost
Keep waihou site open.

Tell us what you think about Resource recovery centres:
Dump the idea
Any other comments on Resource recovery centres:
Live within our means dont leave a debt that future generations will find unmanagable.

Only with the consultation with the towns people it affects taking into account at what cost to them and into account the number of empty shops.

Mountain bike skills and dog park for Te Aroha

Tell us what you think about Mountain bike skills and dog park for Te Aroha:
Don’t do it
Any other comments on Mountain bike skills and dog park for Te Aroha:
We live in countrytowns with numerous dog walk areas.
Bike skills - my generation + yours managed sufficely. Please spend wisely - not at every whim or whine.

Improving walking and cycling connections

Tell us what you think about Improving walking and cycling connections:
Don’t do it
Any other comments on Improving walking and cycling connections:
The walking tracks (maybe signage of interest) are essentially for walkers. Bikes using them, tracks/should respect others and give them priority.
Leave tracks as is please.

Dog park in Matamata

Tell us what you think about Dog park in Matamata:
Don’t do it
Any other comments on Dog park in Matamata:
As above - country towns residents have the knowledge of exercising a dog, without asking a district ratepayer to fund one, plus ongoing cost. Maybe a supervisor, or officer to monater activities.
What do you think about our proposed limits for rates and debt?
The clear consenus was that the community preferred our conservative approach to debt. That we only borrow money to fund capital spending on capital assets.
Please on any capital expenditure plan + spend appropiaely rather than? upgrade/upgrade every 10 years.
What do you think about our plans for our other projects?
Yes to housing for the elderly.
Civic + event centres should only be focused upon if surplus money is available - to suggest that - kick out the museum + use of cadman building in favour of library! The museum, since its inception has given - substance + interest to all who visit. Run by dedicated volunteers - it would raise an eyebrow.

Things we want to investigate/Looking further ahead/Things we're compromising on:

Other comments:
No to applying for government grant of 15 million for domain complex when ratepayers have to front up with 4 million dollar.
The governments intention to make three waters reform decisions in the future.. Councils plural should object strongly forceably - showing other instances where centralizing and amalmaging services have failed. All the expenditure you propose (Better put it on hold if you fold).
Statement that experts advise "(that a debt level of 150% of revenue would be prudent".) "We borrow (currently) money to pay for assets eg water/wastewater/roads/buildings etc.")
I thought our rates pay for these services and that new and present infrastructure that communities required e.g. swimmingpools/libraries/eventcentres etc. were subsidized by the ratepayer. "Its easy to spend others money."
