Business Night Out 2023

 Council’s biggest night out, showcasing the best in business is set to return in 2023!

The Bayleys Business Night Out celebrates business success in Matamata-Piako and will be returning on 26 October 2023 at the Matamata-Piako Civic and Memorial Centre.

After a great night at the 2022 Business Night out, the Trades, Manufacturing and Primary Industries, Consumer Services (Retail, Tourism and Hospitality), Professional Services and New and Emerging Business award categories will return in 2023. Each of the category winners will then be eligible to become the Matamata-Piako Bayleys Supreme Business Award winner.   

Joining these award categories will be the highly contested Fonterra People’s Choice Awards (formerly known as the Customer Services Awards) - one for each of the three towns in the district, which goes to public vote.

Each year Council invites an inspirational speaker as part of the awards ceremony and we are excited to welcome Dr Michelle Dickinson to this year's event. Michelle has spent her career engineering nanotechnology solutions for the tech industry. Now a bestselling author, television presenter and creator of Nanogirl is passionate about creating innovative ways for everyone to have a positive relationship with science and technology. Entries are now open for the 2023 Bayleys Matamata-Piako District Business Awards. Any business can enter - the process is simple, you just need to give some time and thought to what makes your business special and deserves recognition.

• Bayleys Supreme Business Award

Fonterra People's Choice Awards

Nominate a business from either  that you think deserves to win the Fonterra Peoples Choice Award.  

Nominations for the Fonterra People's Choice Award for Matamata, Morrinsville or Te Aroha closed on 8 September. The finalists for the Fonterra People’s Choice Awards have been announced! One business from each town will be crowned at the Bayleys Business Night Out on Thursday, 26 October. Click on the button below to vote! please note: only one vote per person.

Tickets now available

Tickets for the event are now on sale, to celebrate in style guests will receive a drink on arrival while mixing and mingling with influential businesses from the Matamata-Piako District. Canapés will be circulating during the arrival drinks supplied by previous Business Award winners The Old Forge Kitchen, followed by a buffet style banquet and dessert.

Tickets are $75 each, if you would like to purchase an exclusive table for your group or business there is a minimum of eight required with a maximum of ten seated at each table.
