Caravanners and motorhomers will have a more convenient stop in Matamata after the new dump station on Rockford Street opens later this week.

This project has been in the pipeline for some time - and comes just in time for the summer season. 

“International travel may have slowed down due to COVID-19, but caravan and motorhome sales are booming as kiwis explore their own backyards,” commented Mayor Ash. “The new dump station is easy to access from the State Highway, and we’re hoping to see lots of visitors using it as they stop over in Matamata this summer.”

The dump station is expected to be available from Friday 13 November. The existing dump station on Hetana St continues to be available at this stage.
