Matamata-Piako District Council will close Thames St and Lorne St intersection, Morrinsville to ordinary road traffic for nightworks on Sunday 12 December to Monday 13 December 2021 so Fulton Hogan can upgrade the pedestrian crossings on Thames and Lorne St Intersections.

Alternative dates if delayed due to weather are Sunday 19 December and Monday 20 December 2021. Roads to be closed over two nights (no daytime closure).

Vehicle access to Z Service Station will be available. Over the two nights the intersection will have two legs of the intersection closed at one time, this gives access to an entry to Z service station at all times. On the first night (Sunday) access to Z service station will be via Lorne St South with exit out onto Thames St in a westerly direction only. On the second night (Monday) access will be from Thames St western end and Lorne St North, the access/exit onto Lorne St South will be closed.

Detours will be marked with signage. Pedestrian access available. Full traffic management and diversions to be in place for the duration of the closure.
