Freedom Camping Bylaw - have your say

Where do you think self-contained vehicles should be able to freedom camp? How long should they be allowed to stay there? We are proposing a Freedom Camping Bylaw for our District, and we would love for you to have your say.

You may have seen a few signs around our parks and reserves asking for your feedback. Our signs are highlighting some of the areas that we’re discussing in the proposed Freedom Camping Bylaw. The implementation of this proposed Bylaw means we will also make amendments to our Reserve Management Plans to ensure they are consistent.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions, so let us know what you think!

Whether you are happy with the proposal as it is, or you would like to suggest changes or tweaks, your voice matters to us.

Having your say means your Council gets to consider a wider range of perspectives that will help to inform their final decision on this proposed Bylaw. If you would like more information about our proposed Bylaw, you can visit our website to learn more mpdc.nz/freedomcamping.
