A rating valuation is a three-yearly assessment of a property's value and is determined by house sale prices on a specific date. We use these valuations as a guide for setting your rates. Property revaluations are due to take place again this year and we have engaged Opteon to carry out this work on our behalf.

The first step in the process started today, with Opteon emailing or posting approximately 1200 surveys to selected commercial businesses. The survey aims to gather data that will help with the revaluation process. If you receive a survey, we would appreciate you taking the time to fill it out. If you need assistance in filling out the survey please contact Opteon. 

Please note that not all ratepayers will receive a survey. It will be August before the next stage of the process gets underway and valuers will be in the district to assess properties.
