From 15 May 2025, Thompson's Track will be closed to all vehicles. This is for the safety of users and to minimise environmental impact over the winter months. The track will reopen to vehicles in late October or early November this year depending on conditions. Throughout the closure, the track will remain available for those not using vehicles, like pedestrians.
11 June 2025 Horseman's Track - Due to a fallen tree, Horseman's Track is currently closed until it can be safely removed. Signage is in place, and we kindly ask that you avoid the area. We will update this message once the track has reopend.
3.9 Development Contributions
3.9.1 Significant Resource Management Issues
- The economic burden of funding works and infrastructure is significant to sectors of the community. There are likely to be significant costs in the next ten years associated with new facilities and extensions prompted by household growth, particularly in Morrinsville. Such costs will be borne by the implementation of fair development contributions that take into account equity between new development and the existing resident population. See Section 7, Development Contributions.
- The avoidance, remediation or mitigation of adverse environmental effects from activities may also warrant the implementation of a contribution as outlined in Section 7 of this plan.
