What is being proposed?
The Matamata-Piako District Council is currently reviewing a request for a private plan change - Private Plan Change 62 - Calcutta that was received at Council on 3rd July 2025. Private Plan Change 62 seeks to rezone approximately 20ha of land located in Matamata, on the southern side of Tauranga Road from rural to a General Industrial Zone (GIZ). This private plan change request replaces, in part Private Plan Change 57-Calcutta.
