12.1 General
Activities on the surface of water shall comply with the following:
- All permitted activities in Activity Table 12.2 shall comply with the Development Controls (Section 3), Activity Related Standards (Section 4) and Performance Standards (Section 5) of the Plan.
- Motorised vessels are not to exceed speeds of five knots (9 kph) within five metres of a riverbank for all tributaries of the Waihou River.
- All discretionary activities in Activity Table 12.2 will be assessed in accordance with Section 1, General Provisions.
- Any work shall be undertaken in a manner which avoids remedies or mitigates deposition of construction material on the surface of the water.

Advice Note: Resource consents for activities which involve the bed of a river may also require a resource consent from the Waikato Regional Council.
