Plan Change 47: Plan Your town – Kuranui Road

Plan Change 47 reviews the parts of the District Plan relating to the planning rules and zoning for each of our three towns and the areas around them. From smaller section sizes to business zones, we want to ensure that the land supply is aligned to our population projections and that there is room for future growth. 

Following a Note of Direction from the Chair of the Hearing Panel, the hearing of submissions for the Kuranui Road rezoning was deferred until later in 2017 while further work was carried out on traffic effects. This additional work was completed by February 2018 and, following confirmation from all affected submitters that they no longer required to be heard at a hearing, Council made its decision on the proposed Rural-Residential 1 rezoning.  This page details the part of Plan Change 47 at Kuranui Road, Morrinsville:

 

The Process

As above, following a Note of Direction from the Chair of the Hearing Panel, the hearing of submissions for the Horrell Road Notice of Requirement and rezoning, and Kuranui Road rezoning was deferred until later in 2017 while the majority of the plan change continued through the statutory plan change process. However, at its meeting on 13 December 2017 Council resolved to withdraw the Horrell Road Notice of Requirement and rezoning proposal. Please see Plan Change 47 – Plan Your Town: Horrell Road.

At its February 2018 meeting, Council resolved to make the majority of Plan Change 47 operative on 6 April 2018. Please see Plan Change 47 – Plan Your Town: Part-operative. At the same meeting, Council made its decision on the Kuranui Road rezoning proposal for PC 47, which was subject to an Environment Court appeal period that ended 13 April 2018. No appeals were received and this part of Plan Change 47 became operative on 29 June 2018.

A hearing was held on 20 and 21 June 2017
On February 14 2018 Council made its decision on this part of Plan Change 47. No appeals to the Environment Court were received.
The Kuranui Road rezoning became operative on 29 June 2018.

Submissions on Plan Change 47 closed at 5pm on 16 December 2016.

Further submissions of Plan Change 47 closed at 5pm on Wednesday 1st March 2017.
