Fenced in dog area

Fun park - swimming- picnic and dog friendly

As above and maybe circled track for bikes ie little kids to ride around . Maybe bring back a camping area would good to for local folk to take kids on overnight adventures you got walks and pools, play area

Open up and restore fill campground facilities, people would use it more if it was inviting. Place bbq's (gas ones) and picnic tables around under trees.

Improved security improve the pool area with a closed in part over the big pool so everyone could use it year round. Not enough shade areas.

As above with regard to campground.

Tidy up and upgrade tennis courts and pavilion. Increase security, to much damage being done to grounds in general.

I'd like to see more facilities for kids to develop skills and have fun on their bikes. I like the bit of mountain bike track along side the river, but it's a bit short and not too accessible. It would be great to develop an entry-levels kids track, and develop a safe but more demanding mountain bike track as a loop around the park, taking in the river component so long as it didn't lead to conflict with pedestrians.

Safe and attractive, with facilities for all members of the community

Community food Garden and or fruit trees.

Maybe some bbq stations? Toilets are often empty of loo paper on sports weekends.

Maybe an outdoor gym station? Waikato uni has a pretty robust one...
Not the grounds per se... But it'd be amazing if the grounds linked all the river walks so people could walk from one end of morrinsville to the other along the river.

Please keep the off leash dog walking area. There are so few of a decent size for a large dog to run off their energy. Walking on a leash is fine and all but dogs also need a good run to keep them healthy and happy.

A covered in swimming pool for all year use

More car parking

A 24/7 swimming pool building that has swimming lessons available.

As the Morrinsville area is increasing its time to have a covered pool available for our area, its too far to travel to Matamata.

Year round swimming facilities would be fantastic (covered/upgraded pool). This would allow local year round swim school (some have to travel out of region). Also good fitness option

It would be nice to have a separate area for camper vans than the car park. These take up spots for pool/kids footy on the weekend.
Better football facilities ie better lighting and improvement in pitch draining/quality

Be good to keep it open to a range of community interests, where lots of uses continue.
Be interesting to have out door sounds stage for plays/ events etc as well. Continue to make more family friendly.
It would be great to carve off an area for a kids bike park (small children) and perhaps even a water feature

Better updates on social media etc around events on and times (ie to plan when to take the dog). Information on when pool season opens and closes and times of day etc as tricky to that info out

re-opening of the camping area for campervans / caravans - I know there were previous problems with long term campers, but being able to camp by the big trees and having grass around you must be more pleasant than camping in a carpark, with lots of cars coming and going. Coromandel towns have limits for the number of nights you can stay
A better link to the township - a pathway for cyclists/walkers
Cycle access from the carpark to the drive by the tennis court - it is walking access only.

Providing a nicer camping spot for campervans/caravans with trees & grass surrounding - i.e. where the camping area used to be, limited to a couple of nights only.
Pathway to the town & a pathway east of the River Walk connecting the Riverview Rd pathway
The path along the River walk made to have cycle friendly access ( The bike is heavy to carry up the steps)
Making it safe - dogs on leads on the pathways and river walk

I would like to see this large open space kept and still be available to the groups that use it.
Keeping the fabulous old trees.
Some sort of bike track for kids - something to cater for small kids and the older cyclists.
A cycle friendly path from the River Walk to connect to the track off River view road

I enjoy taking the grandchildren to the River Walk, but will only do this when I have another adult with me , because of the dogs running free. My grandkids are terrified of dogs.
I enjoy using the cycle path on the southern end of the polo grounds and then on around the drive way near the railway line end of the polo field.
I appreciate, as a cyclist, the driveway through the Recreation grounds is always swept and free of sticks.

An indoor pool complex that is open all year round. A kids bike track.

Indoor pool, cafe and destination playground. Similar to the awesome complex they have at te awamutu. A really family friendly area with something for everyone.

See above

It is lovely as it is now as well. Quite peaceful most of the time..we usually only see a couple of other people there when we go. Putting more stuff there as I mentioned above would make it busier.

A dedicated dog park, fully fenced.

Very clear dogs on leash signs at both ends of the River Walk
Secure gates and entranceways to keep the motorbikes off the grounds

The new ground between the rec ground and the railway tracks could be used to fence off and use for dedicated dog parks, meaning the polo field could be used without dogs running all over it. If Polo were to release their lease as they very rarely use the grounds then cricket could utilise the grounds. The current cricket fields are too small, they could fit two on the current space and another 2 on the polo fields making it a real home grounds for the club.

The addition of an all weather pump track, there has recently been such tracks built in Hamilton and Cambridge and both get alot of use

Dog friendly activities eg agility classes, obedience classes, nosework classes and exercises.
I would also like to have some seating in the dog field, an extra step for the stiles so older people ,like me, can climb them easily to cross the fence and more seats along to riverwalk to sit and enjoy the birds etc
Have a spray fee area around the black berries so people can pick and eat the berries safely.
Create a communal orchard of fruit trees so people have access to fresh fruit all year.

Remove the camp ground buildings.Build a new storage shed to put the jumps etc in.
Build an education centre for groups to use.

Have an all year swimming pool.

Its a fantastic space and I have walked my dogs there frequently until recently but now feel unsafe due to roaming neglected dogs.
As you can probably tell from my previous comments I would like to see an educational use for this space and something to encourage more people to come here and meet people, which will create a more community feel which leads to better outcomes for all of us.
I like the idea of using Tohu to acknowledge significant sites and cultural history, maybe put some signs up.

Kids bike track

Bmx track
cycleway
Pump track

I’d like to see public toilets that are actually open. I would like to see more parking around the dog area.

I’d love to see a pump track/bmx track developed for the local kids and you see all the tracks and jumps built down by the river already. They are not safe and can cause issues with other users so a place for the kids would be great.

I would like to see the grass area next to the rail way have a gravel/dirt track path around the outside of it as great for running on. It would be good to get rid of the road that cuts through the middle of it as attracts some bad people doing skids etc.

I would like to see it become more well developed so as the community grows it becomes a meeting point for family’s. More play grounds and more multi use things to attract a wider group of people.

No

Indoor rec centre, indoor pools with better pricing for family and passes where you can return in the same day. Water slide.

The idiots who don’t leash their dogs in the areas where they’re supposed to be leashed.
Better hours for pool use - only available in summer. Would be good to have indoor pools year round

Indoor rec centre with activities for kids (and adults) , cafe, indoor pools. More fun!
