The space and the fact that many sports are done here
Something like a gourmet at the gardens would be fun! Or drive in movies and fairs.
Become more tidy and safer. The pools to become covered and get a spruce up - the club rooms and pools can be a bit of an eye sore.
I would love the rec grounds to be able to host all sorts of different events like fairs, gourmet at the gardens, drive in movies. It would be amazing to see a calendar full of events happening there that the community could get behind! I would love the area to be safer to visit, sometimes I can get a bit nervous going to the club rooms for work.
Again I think it would be beneficial for the pools to be covered and used all year long.
How large the area is that coukd be used and updated
The swim zone updated with a heated pool and a better playground and skate park cattering for all ages more so the older 10+ age group as the play ground is small and not that interesting

Yes a better family area that you would like to spend the whole day at. Somewhere to just hang out with the family on the weekends. The tennis club is so valuable but looking tried and I think the council should help with improvement also so it's not oat to the community.
The river walk is great! But it's said to know that it is up to volunteers and the community to keep it maintained.

It would be awesome to see a updated playground. There is so much space. A little pump track for the kids like almost every other town in our surrounding area has now. We are so behind on Family friendly areas.
The skatebowl, it's a wast of space. always full of leaves. doesn't seem like it gets cleaned. The area with the swings could use a update.

The swimming pool is great in summer, but they can definalty update the picnic areas around the pools. More shade sails. more picnic tables.
The toddler pool has 1 umbrella for shade! it's shocking! it's not hard to put up a few colorful shade sails. a lot of young families don't come as there is no shade!

It's a great size, great little walks
A better kids play ground, with a pump track around like most other towns seem to now have, and would be great to have cameras to try help prevent vandalism to the parks. A great spot would be by the old swings next to the skate bowl.
Tidy up or remove the old buildings that are boarded up broken and never seem to used.
Id love to see it booming with constant family fun great play grounds and picnic spots so everyone can make the most of the walks, the tennis courts and everything it has to offer.
Being morinsvilles i guess centre of attention when bigger events are held it would be great to see the streets leading into the grounds better kept foot paths fixed trees maintained its such a fantastic area but seems to get a bit neglected

Yes I’m a big promoter of action sports and I want to push for these facilities
The bowl needs to be cleaned as it’s dangerous for kids if it’s not cleaned. If it is cleaned it’s a great old school bowl to ride/skate. The rec needs a pump track a good one (velo solutions), extend the bowl add on more ramps etc if you need a designer contact me.

The recreation ground is situated away from the town center. It has swimming facilities within the grounds as well. A great facility beside the river walk.
I would love to see the swimming pool complex changed to include more activities. e.g. hydro slide. The junior pool could be a beach pool setting with the water that flows over the front of the pool like a small water fall.
Would love to see an all weather athletics track and turf to attract sports like hockey, athletics, etc that they can play all year round.
Would love to see a large playground for kids along the lines of the Levin one. Develop the swimming complex. More parking. Include a fitness area alongside the river walk but on the recreation ground itself, along the lines of the new one at Innes Common in Hamilton.
Athletics track, skills area, all weather turf, swimming complex that accommodates rehabilitation, and winter swimming.
An outdoor theatre. A stage area for outdoor concerts similar to the Gourmet Food in the Park with relaxing music and food trucks once a month.
Morrinsville has a variety of sports and activities and if the grounds were designed for multiple sports users you would attract more competitions as well and teams and individuals could train all year round.
It needs to be designed to cater for all age groups and all sports and activity users, not just one sport.
The natural green environment & space available right on our doorstep
Heated pool, or at least partially heated pool to allow use in the cooler months. Well designed & pleasant exercise areas to encourage people to use the area. Maybe more designated picnic areas for families & groups.
More family / group activities to socialise in the area.
SHADE of some sort in the play ground area beside the pool. There is no shelter for people while children use the play area.
More activities encouraged there. Plenty of space, there is no reason not to improve it so people are encouraged to use it.
Improve security.
Please don't wait another 28+ years thinking the Event centre is what Morrinsville needed....... develop the land at the Rec to be a benefit to all, & please sort out a small indoor pool to benefit all ages. The large pool with the ramp is ideal in summer but such a limited time availability.

It’s a green space, available for community uses, eg. AMP show, show jumping, fireworks, drive in movies etc. Available to sport groups not tied down by one user
Kept as a green space banning motorbikes and lawnmower racing. Keeping the ground in good condition for sports and people walking and exercising
Close off the road through the rec ground or at least stop the hoons skidding on the grass, motorbikes using the road as a race way. Move the gates to close the drive way off at night to stop the gatherings and loud music at night, people congregating making others feel unsafe. Stop the drug deals that openly go on in the park since we don’t seem to have a police force in Morrinsville as the deals are so obvious.
Keep it as a green space. Flat and useable, basically as is. Any sport with wheels using a grassed area not always in the same place ruining the grass. Clear of cars making it safe for walkers, cyclists and runners to use.
Wide green spaces - trees, river walk. Great fields for soccer

They have done an awesome job updating the river walk - it would be good to see the pool and tennis club areas updated as well
