- an all weather walkway around the rec and more seating/picnic facilities. If there could be something like a figures of 8 around/ the Rec with more bench seats, and perhaps a central wide concrete concourse with picnic tables, seating, water fountain, dog bowl etc. make the centre a focal point
- a safe, secure, all weather, powered area for self contained motor homes
- better signage to welcome people to "The Rec", better signage of facilities, exercise areas etc, direction sign posts
-

- better maintenance of the grounds especially the drains along the driveway and the area near Avenue South
- removing derelict buildings
- better parking at Avenue South end
- putting an all weather walking circuit that doesn't require walking across the Cureton St end car park or along the roadway around the side
- better maintenance or perhaps better siting, and better accessibility of the picnic/play area that sits opposite the pool in behind Cureton Street

The Waikato's best kept secret offering leisure and recreation opportunities and options for all ages.

Indoor pools and playground

Bigger playground and indoor pools

Better overnight area away from the carpark

Provide for motor homes to stay in a friendlier area than the carpark which has small parks not suitable for larger vehicles..
There are over 100,000 NZMCA members in NZ who like to park/walk/ride and spend money at cafe's/fuel stations/Grocery shops..
Look at what the Hauraki District Council provide..
We are good security for boy racers and taggers

2 x wet hockey turf that can also be used as Lacrosse. Wet turf is better than sand turf.
The Morrinsville Athletics Club

Build a new swimming complex in a new area and put the old complex into apartments over looking the Rec.
New complex to have 50m pool 4-6 pools with treadmill so this is good for sports players rehab and our older members of town and a wave pool to bring people into town.

This is something that all cards have to be on the table from clubs and the work out the best plan.

We can do with a big sports hub. I had a count up last night to find out we have 26 active sports in Morrinsville. That is a lot for a small town but lets build on it and make a sports hub. We are going to need more land to do this & I think the time is right to get something on paper. If the town keeps growing like this we will need a new school so some of though grounds could also be used for sports. There is a lot to think about & to get it right.

Upgraded pool area for use all year.
Tennis facilities improved

More centralised parking

Market days

It would be great to have some tennis courts available for public use (apart from the tennis club).

I'd like to see it used more by different community groups.

Cycle track, e.g.around the outside

Increase usefulness, by adding features that can be used for different things. But still maintaining use ability for community as a general open accessible area.

Ability to hold cycling events on a recreational track for kids and adults.

Morrinsville Wheelers cycling club has ideas about the cycling track.

Year round swimming facilities

Year round swimming facilities

More signage/rules regarding dogs. IN PROMINENT POSITIONS
Signage/Rules as to no unauthorised motorbike/cart riding/racing. IN PROMINENT POSITIONS.
A proper van park/camping area not just for motorhomes
More security patrols day and night. to make it a safer area.

Gates closer to road entrance at the Avenue Road end so cars can't park up at night or be able to meet with suppliers of XXXX.
The area under the large trees fenced off from cars to stop the constance use of it as a mud slide area. Perhaps put in an angle parking area along that first bit of the lane so people can park and then get out on the proposed grassy area (which would grow if the cars were kept off) and picnic under the trees.

To keep it as a large flat area. and in particular a Dog area and sports/swim area.
Have No large buildings or arenas

Having a well lit area with street lights.Perhaps if it was a well lit area it would keep it as a safer place to be.

All year swimming, well used club rooms and fields.

Revitalise that side of town - make it a safe place where people want to spend time, make it easier to get to via good walking and cycling links (incl safe crossing points on busy roads).

Check out Omokoroa Park in Western Bay of Plenty - this is one of the latest examples of having different facilities in one location, with good connections to the wider community. It would be great to work with surrounding land/property owners, developers and community groups to re-vitalise the whole area surrounding the Rec. Move the Events Centre there, and maybe the netball club and other sporting groups, creating shared club rooms, multi functional rooms, offering something for everyone.

Look wider than just the Rec. Here's an opportunity to really revitalise one of the older areas of town. Think outside the box, partner with Kainga Ora, iwi, community groups, private investors/developers and others to create a vibrant community that is safe and desirable for everyone.

All year round swimming pool

a swimming pool, heated and available to use all year

More football fields and use the polo ground for a hockey turf. Develop the river walk to accomodate mountain bike / pump track.

An upgraded clubrooms/changing rooms that can be used by a range of sports
