Turn the rec into a facility that could allow for cricket to be fully played at the one venue and be a hub for the sport. Currently it is played across multiple parks & schools within town due to not having one park that can cater for the sports needs.

New facilities and pitches to allow for cricket as a whole to be played at the rec, instead of spread out throughout Morrinsville and being disconnected.

To build a new purpose built club rooms that would cater for current sport users of the rec. position it in the middle of the fields, so accessible from all pitches with adequate amount of pitches for cricket to be played together and to create a one stop venue to drive atmosphere, interest and support people’s physical well-being.

The saying of build it and the people will come is so crucial here. With continual investment in sports and recreation facilities that are easily accessible and affordable, then people will continue to be able to use and support local clubs and groups instead of having to travel out of town.

A café would be amazing and would go down well.
Covered pool so it can be used all year round.
More shade for summer.
Dog agility or obedience classes offered at the rev grounds.
A family friendly picnic event similar to gourmet in the gardens.

All mentioned above.

More use of the other end (only gets used 1-2 x a year) upgraded pool complex/covered pool/extended grounds, better clubrooms for sports

Make the pool usable for all year around - retain the 50m pool and consider either covering it or having a 25m indoor pool

Big pool complex, events centre and clubrooms for all sports.

I would like to see the pool covered and open all year round, we are extremely lucky to have that sized pool in our area why not utilise it, make a real sports hub there, with a physio, gym, child care, cafe etc

The entrance off anzac, it's very off putting

As above, cover pool, make it open all year with a real sports hub there, physio, gym, child care, café etc maybe gym equipment around the park, bbqs, picnic areas with more play ground equipment around the grounds so it has a more park like feel

Indoor/covered pool for winter swimming

Up date/improve the pool facilities

Covered pools with year round access for fitness

Cover the pools for year round use

A bike park for kids

A bigger playground and covered pool for all year round swimming.

Covered pool
Bigger play ground
Better skate park
Better maintained grounds

Shade around the pool for summer picnics & watching kids swim without getting burnt. A bike track (concrete) for younger kids learning to ride. Picnic tables. Destination playground. Cafe/ icecream parlor. Man made lake. Flower gardens.

Make it safe. No dog attacks. Pool open year around & covered. Make it a inviting community space.

A safe, inviting community space with activities for all ages.

A half pipe inbetween the skate bowl and swings and a skate pump track in the same area. An actual proper skate park would be amazing (we currently drive out to Ngaruawahia or Melville to skate), but i'm willing to settle for a decent half pipe, for now.

Somewhere to skate (not scooter, the "skate" park by the library was designed for scooters, it's terrible for skaters - I've tried!). It would even be nice if the tennis courts were upgraded so kids could practice skating/ roller blading when they are not being used for tennis.

Somewhere that people in Morrinsville can actually go to skate. Smoth clean concrete in puplic places seems non existent in Morrinsville.

People enjoy skating.

Mini-golf course

Mini-golf course

I have designed an eighteen hole mini-golf course using pencil and square grid paper (1cm x 1cm). I have submitted this plan to a friend of mine who is an architectural draughts person. He is creating a 3-d graphic representation of it using a computer software programme. I believe mini-golf would be an enjoyable activity for locals and for people out of town. I would be willing to share the design with you at the council office on completion. Ph: 027 255 0421

I used to play tennis in the nineteen nineties and the early two thousands. I also used to swim at the swimming pools. I really enjoyed it. These two places are great for young minds to be engaged in something that is fun and competitive.

Covered pool to extend season.
Get pool heater system redesigned correctly and working properly and more effectively. Also pool itself needs resealing and painting. Actually whole complex needs a sort out out just thinking about it now. Such an underutilized asset and don't change the earth for swimclubs/coaches/schools to use the facility either. Sometimes a private/council partnership arangement allows things to progress faster and more cost effective to ratepayers.

What I just said above??

Morrinsville is very central and with Hamilton growing and becoming jammed up with traffic and people a purpose built swim zone will allow surrounding districts to utilize it. I am thinking a size similar to Te Awamutu swimming pool complex. It could also incorporate a gym as well and courts as the district needs another indoor sports complex due to demand.
