Plan Change 51 - Development Concept Plan for Milk Processing Site, Waharoa

Plan Change 51 seeks to introduce a Development Concept Plan (DCP) for the Open Country Dairy milk processing site in Factory Road, Waharoa.

The purpose of the DCP is to provide for the integrated and coordinated development of the Open Country Dairy site, in advance of its current resource consents, to allow for additional growth and development of the milk processing facility. Plan Change 51 became operative on 5th June 2019.

Status

This plan change was notified, calling for public submissions on 27 September 2017. Submissions closed on 26 October 2017.

The plan change was notified again, inviting further submissions, on 29 November 2017. Further submissions closed on 13 December 2017.

Council accepted (with modifications) the plan change on 30 January 2019. No appeals were received during the 30 working day appeal period which ended 21 March 2019.

Council decided at its meeting on 24 April 2019 to make Plan Change 51 operative on Wednesday 5 June 2019.

Council has a statutory responsibility under the Resource Management Act 1991 to have a District Plan prepared at all times.

The District Plan provides for the sustainable management of the natural and physical resources of the district to ensure they are protected for future generations.

How to use the Online District Plan

The Matamata-Piako District Plan is in a online format that allows greater interactivity between the users and the Plan. Council has produced this Plan in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), whereas other Council’s have provided their plans in pdf format.

 

This guide is designed to help you navigate through the Matamata-Piako District Plan.

The table of contents panel allows you to access any page in the District Plan. Simply expand each section to view the content within each section and sub-section.

District Plan sections and pages

The District Plan has been designed to provide the user with as much information as possible. When you select a section in the table of contents panel, the content panel will display the content of the selected section as well as the content of any sub-sections of the selected section.
